Salary & Benefits

Salary

FY24 SALARIES
-Fellowship Year 1 total salary: $79,863
-Fellowship Year 2 total salary: $83,377
-Fellowship Year 3 total salary: $87,458

Infectious Disease Fellowship Benefits Include:

Three years of funding:  A unique feature of our training program is that fellows are provided with funding for three years of fellowship training (with the third year of funding contingent upon continued scholarly productivity during fellowship year two). This allows for two years fully devoted to research, which we believe is one of many reasons fellows in our program have had such an exceptional K award success rate.

Health insurance coverage for fellows and their families: The institution provides full coverage for individual, two-party, or family health insurance as needed at no additional expense to clinical fellows.

Financial support for fellowship-related expenses:  All first-year fellows receive $1,000, which can be used to reimburse any fellowship-related expenses, including cell phone bills, research supplies, conference attendance, and educational materials. Second- and third-year fellows also receive several thousand dollars for research-related expenses.

The Lois E. Groth Loan Repayment Program for Post-Doctoral Infectious Disease Fellows:  Through a generous gift from the estate of Lois E. Groth, the Division is able to offer each fellow up to $5,000 worth of education loan repayment per fellowship year.

Fellows may apply for this funding in addition to the NIH loan repayment program (with which our fellows have had significant success).

Boards Review Course Support:  The Division provides full tuition support for third-year fellows to attend the George Washington Infectious Disease Boards Review Course.

Office of Graduate Medical Education

For additional information, review the website of the Office of Graduate Medical Education. Our fellows have many benefits available to them as Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine postdoctoral fellows.
