About Us

The Division of Infectious Diseases at Johns Hopkins is nationally and internationally known for its excellence in the study and treatment of infections.

Currently, there are over 400 people in the division making it one of the largest members of the Department of Medicine within Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Our primary goal is to combat infectious diseases worldwide.

Dedicated to the Hopkins Mission

Our Division supports the Johns Hopkins Medicine Mission, Vision and Core Values by developing and delivering expertise in clinical care, training, and research.

Patient Care

We offer inpatient and outpatient services at three main locations – East Baltimore, Greenspring, and Bayview. We also offer telemedicine and a program to bring care to persons in outlying counties of Maryland.

Teaching and Education

Our fellowship program has opportunities for premiere training in both clinical care and research. We also offer faculty and staff training and formal continuing medical education opportunities.

Research

Research is conducted with state of the art equipment and facilities.  Within our division, sponsored research funding exceeds $50 million per year from the federal government (NIH), private foundations and gifts.
